Occupational therapy for adults
Connect Allied Health occupational therapists are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and are highly experienced and skilled to support adults to improve their mobility, independence, participation, engagement, and quality of life, and can help with:
- Assistive technology / equipment prescription:
Equipment or devices that can facilitate independence and quality of life, e.g., wheelchairs, mobility aids, scooters, beds, seating, electronic devices, educational software, sensory aids, etc. - Activities of daily living:
Individualised therapies to build capacity and independence in skills such as showering, eating, cooking, and dressing.
- Household and community functioning:
Individualised therapies to build capacity and independence in skills such as budgeting and shopping. - Education and work:
Support effective participation in learning/work environments. - Leisure, play and social participation:
Positive interaction and access to community. - Minor home modifications:Assess and modify participants’ homes and/or community environments to improve safety and independence.
- Independence:
Help participants regain or enhance their daily lives after specific events such as hip replacement or stroke.

You may benefit from occupational therapy if you
Would like to improve independence in activities of daily living, such as showering, toileting, dressing, cooking, and eating.
- Are at risk of falls or have reduced mobility.
- Have difficulties with balance and coordination.
- Require assistive devices to enhance comfort, safety, and independence with day-to-day tasks.
Where we Support
We provide occupational therapy supports for adults in their home, supported independent living (SIL), day options, residential aged care facility, or clients may prefer to visit one of our clinics based in Norwood and Modbury.
We accept referrals for
- NDIS funded participants (agency, plan, and self-managed)
- Home care package clients (via an approved HCP provider)
- Residential Aged Care Clients
